Lead Engineer, Quality Control Responsibilities: Operational / Functional 1. Consistently deliver solutions which contribute to business results and improved competitiveness (consulting advice, business options) 2. Deliver quality solutions/ service cost effectively on time and within risk parameters 3. Provide advice that are generally accepted and implemented on programmes and systems, creating a competitive advantage for organization, leading to quality results 4. Continuously develop extensive knowledge relating to the field of work and personal mastery in technical skills application 5. Deliver cost effective results 6. Risk results 7. HSE targets 8. Conduct research & development that leads to new solutions being implemented in the organization 9. Play a lead role for a portfolio of projects 10. Solve problems involving multiple stakeholders (e.g. on related Affiliate level and impact value chains) 11. Identify, prioritise, and select stakeholder needs in order to set specific technical requirements (involves pre-empting known and unknown) 12. Translate stakeholders needs/wants into specific technical deliverables 13. Independent idea generation within multi-disciplines/multi-affiliate (tactical impact) 14. Analyze work processes and implement actions to improve own team's technical performance 15. Develop quality standards, specifications and technical requirements 16. Ensure quality of a function's technical delivery by the review and sign off of technical work within the discipline 17. Take decisions which optimize total cost of ownership 18. Balance cost, schedule, quality as per risk level 19. Review policies, procedures and methods and develop where necessary; apply policies with discretion 20. Ensure that the quality of decision making with regards to projects are high 21. Solve problems on affiliate level and impact related affiliate by enhancing meaningful steps (define, defend, enhance) 22. Verify quality of group delivery; manage junior staff 23. Continuously research the field of expertise to develop the area with the company; improve technology application and integration Leadership 1. Understand, support and live the Ma'aden vision, values and goals 2. Expert utilization & direction through selling and obtaining support for value adding ideas leading to business improvement 3. Takes accountability for personal improvement, personal development, skills development and effectiveness 4. Expertise transfer, sharing and development 5. Plan and project management 6. Establish policies, practices, standards, procedures and methods; application, review and development 7. Deliver expert solutions as a thought leader, to meet changing business & work requirements through Trends, analysis, problem solving and quality decision making 8. Process and risk impact, reporting and corrective action 9. Extract, capture and disseminate knowledge within knowledge management standards 10. Provide technical leadership within the discipline (also acting as coach and mentor within team) 11 Ensuring continuous personal and professional growth and development 12. Improve group work processes and play leading role in implementation of new ideas/opportunities 13. Facilitating transformation and change processes 14. Facilitating continuous improvement 15. Communicate best practices, technical reports and positions statements with the appropriate stakeholders 16. Lead discussions with contractors and licensors Relationships 1. Creating effective stakeholder and expert networking relationships (e.g. customers, suppliers, universities and specialist bodies) 2. Demonstrate influential relationships with manager peers and company business leaders 3. Contractor/consultant relations & management 4. Communication of expertise (best practices, technical reports, position statement) in a collaborative and consultative approach which consistently meet business needs 5. Develop and facilitate the implementation of new solutions in area of expertise 6. Participate in and maintained expert networks 7. Build credibility and constructive working relationship with teams, managers and business leaders to enhance the knowledge base of the company 8. Maintain healthy and stable relations with contractors, consultants and management 9. Create and maintained well developed internal and external network 10. Liaise with external engineering companies to share knowledge and benchmark COMPETENCIES: Technical/Functional 1.
